Jack Thurlow, 85, of Wakefield, KS passed away April 29, 2013 at Geary Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Wakefield United Methodist Church with Pastors Diana Stewart and Larry Myers officiating, burial will follow at Madura Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the Wakefield United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been designated to the Wakefield United Methodist Church, 406 6th Street, Wakefield, KS 67487.
Jack was born October 13, 1927, the son of Raymond and Zella (Davis) Thurlow. He married Erma Yenni on May 8, 1949. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Erma; four children Fred (Patty) Thurlow of Wichita; LaDonna (Gary) Junghans of Junction City; Deanna (Larry) Hillyard of Gypsum and Robert (Jaylene)Thurlow of Wakefield; and nine grandchildren, John (Kendall) Thurlow, Lindsay Thurlow, Clint Junghans, Matt Junghans, Melissa (Jason) Isaacson, Shelly (Nathan) Peters, Emily (Robby) Haynes, Megan Thurlow and Laura Thurlow; one great-grandchild, Cora Isaacson and two sisters, Mary Ann Bergmeier and Ronnie Roberts.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Eric Hillyard and a brother Von Dale Thurlow.
