Jack Murrison

Jack E. Murrison, 75, a life-long resident of Junction City, died March 26, 2014 at Geary Community Hospital.

Jack was born Sept. 15, 1938 at Junction City, the son of John & Florence (Schlappi) Murrison.

Jack was a 1956 graduate of Junction City Jr./Sr. High School.

Jack was retired from the United States Postal Service, having served as a mail carrier, served as Postmaster at Herington, and ending his 34 year career as Supervisor of Mail & Delivery in Junction City.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Noon Kiwanis Club . He coached Little League Baseball for over 20 years, and was a avid golfer. Jack had many friends and enjoyed his "country club coffee group."

On November 7, 1959, he married Judy Schmedemann in Junction City, She survives of the home.

Other survivors include: his 2 Sons - Matt Murrison of Prairie Village, KS., Chad Murrison and his wife Penny, of Littleton, Colo.; Brother - Gary Murrison and wife Vicki, of Lawrence, KS.; Daughter-in-law - Kari Murrison of Olathe, KS.; Granddaughter - Meghann ; 3 Grandsons - Ryan , Dylan , Cody.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Junction City, with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Noon Kiwanis Club or The First Presbyterian Church.
