Iva R. "Becky" Gasswint, 86, of Junction City, died Feb. 22, 2013 at her home. She was born Nov. 8, 1926 at Barnes, the daughter of John & Ellen A. Klataska Woodward. Becky was a 1944 graduate of Waterville High School. She worked for many years as a cashier at the commissary on Ft. Riley and later in the finance office on base. After retirement, she worked at Wal-Mart.
Becky married Grover Gasswint. He died August 30, 1991. Survivors include 2 sons, Thomas Woodward, Junction City, and John Gasswint, Chapman; 3 daughters, Dianna Gasswint, Wichita, Shirley Gasswint, Junction City, and Patricia Oquist and husband Glenn, Junction City; 4 sisters, Verla Thompson, San Antonio, Tx., Delores Anders and Barbara Edmonson, both of Junction City, and Gloria Jean Adams, Waynesville, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Becky was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Beck; and a sister, Narcissus "Babe" Rohem.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Junction City. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. A visitation will be Wed. evening, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Terry C.
