Funeral services for Irma Marie Frankie, 91, Junction City, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9667 Clark's Creek Road with Pastor Alan C. Estby officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fort Riley Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Mrs. Frankie died Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Valley Senior Life in Junction City.
Mrs. Frankie was born on February 7, 1920, in Greenleaf, KS the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Rabe) Laue. She graduated from Linn High School in Linn, Kansas. She married Valentine Frankie on September 2, 1949.
Irma was employed as a Dental Technician and was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family, and was a caregiver for her parents.
She is survived by one son, Frederick Frankie of Atlanta, GA. Two sisters, Erylene Snow of Colorado Springs, CO. and Rose Marie Christiansen of Alexandria, VA., two grandchildren, Martine Frankie and Brandon Frankie, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Valentine (1997), three brothers, Eldon C. Laue, Herman E. Laue, Martin W. Laue, and one sister, Lois Maxine Laue.
