Services for Irma L. Owens, 83, Junction City, will be Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Steward Smith of the Milford Congregational Church will officiate. Irma died Aug. 27, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in Junction City. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Haviland Cemetery, Haviland KS at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Heart of America Chapter, Topeka Regional Office, P.O. Box 1427, Topeka, KS 66601-1427.
Irma was born September 5, 1919 at Vienna, Austria to Oskar and Franziska (Nussbaum) Langfelder. She married Samuel Clair Owens in June of 1954 at Colorado Springs, CO, he preceded her in death March 1984. She had lived in Colorado Springs, CO and Mohave Valley, AZ before moving to Junction City in 1985. She worked for Western Forge and made craftsmen tools for Sears, she was an active member of the Faith Tabernacle Church where she devoted a lot of her time with church organizations and activities within the community.
She is survived by One Son; Kit K. Owens of Michigan City, IN, Two Daughters; Ivy D. Popovich of Junction City, Cathy J. Macks of Colorado Springs, CO One Sister; Hedi Langfelder of San Francisco, CA and Four Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Pallbearers will be Robert Berry, Jr., Gene Hamilton, William Matos, J.W. Ward, Edwin Young and Thurman Young.
Musicians will be Calvin Bernard, Brenda and Jordan Young
