Mary "Irene" Kirchoff, 78, of Junction City, died May 23, 2014 at Geary Community Hospital.
Irene was born March 14, 1936, at Caledonia, Minnesota, the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (O'Heron) Koel.
A Junction City resident since 1956, Irene was a cab driver for Bell Taxi for 27 years. Later she worked as a driver for Mobile Traveler and DEL Motors.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #830, of Junction City, Ks. Irene enjoyed fishing and attending stockcar races.
Irene married Thomas F. Kirchoff in 1956 at Junction City. They were later divorced.
Irene is survived by 2 sons, Thomas Kirchoff of Emporia, KS, Terry Kirchoff of Norton, KS.; a Daughter, Threasa (George) Fenn of Indianapolis, IN; her long-time companion, Richard C. Scott of Junction City, KS; a sister, Ellen Lowery, Manning, S.C.; two Granddaughters, Jamie Guthrie, Kelley Mascharka; Grandson, Dominic Fenn; Great-Grandson, Nate Guthrie; Great-Granddaughter, Katelyn Guthrie; Step-Daughter, Shelley Welton of Edwardsville, KS.; Step-Son, Rick Scott, Junction City; Step-Grandson, Jordan Dougherty; Step-Granddaughter, Stephanie Dougherty; step great-grandson, Colton Dougherty. Irene was preceded in death by her parents.
It was Irene's wish to be cremated and to have no services. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Highland Cemetery.
