Inge Hicks, 76, longtime resident of Junction City, died October 29, 2003 at Geary Community Hospital. Services will be Monday, November 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, Jimmie Keas of the Church of Christ of Salina will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to time of service. Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery.
Mrs. Hicks was born Ingeburg Hardt on November 17, 1926 in Friensehn, Germany, an only child to Karl and Helene (Reuss) Hardt. She married Hobert Hicks, Sr. in Frankfort, Germany, by way of military she came to Junction City in 1960. She worked for USD 475 as a school bus driver until retiring, she was a homemaker, loved to golf and was a avid bowler for over 40 years, she was a member of WIBC, she bowled with numerous leagues including the Tuesday Coffee League, Thursday Coffee League, Seniors Leaque, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday Night Mixed League, she insisted that she bowl with her son once a week to ensure that they spent time together.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by; Hobert Hicks,Sr. of Junction City, two sons; Hobert (Hobie) Hicks, Jr. and wife Anna, of Los Angeles, CA, Robert (Bob) Hicks and wife Laurie of Junction City, four grandsons; Bryan Hicks and Ryan Hicks both of Junction City, Eric Hicks of San Francisco, CA and Jason Hicks of Phoenix, AZ. She leaves behind many cousins and friends.
