Ilamae "Kris" Snyder, 80, of Topeka, passed away Dec. 10, 2012. She was born to George and Mamie (Lewis) Smethers in Russell, KS on October 2, 1932.
She graduated from high school in Colorado Springs, CO. Ilamae met Ralph L. Snyder at Junction City, KS and they were married on Apr. 9, 1952. They raised one son. Ilamae worked for about 10 years as a cashier at the city clerk's office in Junction City. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed knitting.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ralph, of the home; her son, Bob Snyder and his wife Janice, of Nampa, ID; one brother, LeRoy Smethers (Donna) of Hugo, CO; one sister, Vida Lou Brown (Thurman) of Manteca, CA .
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, with Pastor Laurie Barnes officiating.
