Funeral services for Ida Jamison McQuiller, 88, of Junction City will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue. Mrs. McQuiller passed away on May 11, 2006 at Salina Regional Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be given to the Second Missionary Baptist Church, 701 W. 10th, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mrs. McQuiller was born June 3, 1917, Woodland, MS to Johnnie and Pearl (Chandler) Jamison. She resided in Junction City for 62 years. She worked at Irwin Army Hospital as a Assistant Dietician, she retired September 19, 1980. She received many awards while working at the hospital. She was a very active member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. She married James A. McQuiller in 1937, he preceded her in death October 18, 1986.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Jeffries of Denver, CO and Shirley P. Gardenhire of Salina, KS, five sons, James H. McQuiller of Topeka, KS, Frenchy McQuiller of Decatur, GA, John L. McQuiller of Florissant, MO, Volly McQuiller of Atlanta, GA and Carl R. McQuiller of Kansas City, KS, two daughters, Doris Jeffries of Denver, CO and Shirley P. Gardenhire of Salina, KS, sister-in-law Alma Mcquiller, brother-in-law Charlie Clark, 23 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, one Great-Great Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Bernise, four brothers, Howard, Ed, John E. and Harry Jamison, four sisters, Annie M. Jackson, Emma Crowley, Leeida Clark, Myrtle Crowley Dimple Lofton.
