Hulda J. Cowen

Funeral services for Hulda J. Cowen, 93, of Junction City, will be Wednesday, February 18, 2:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Pastor G. Edmond Thomas will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Cowen died February 15, at Valley View Professional Care Center. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church, 624 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441.

Hulda was born December 31, 1910 at Upland, KS to Charley J. and Lettie (Norman) Peterson. She was a graduate of Dickinson County High School, Chapman, KS in 1929. She married Elmer O. Cowen, July 11, 1936 at Washington, KS. He preceded her in death January 12, 1972.

Hulda was a member of the First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School, served as Circle Chairman and was past president of American Baptist Women for 2 years. She had worked for the George Smith Library and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Jenelle I. Cowen of Abilene, one sister; Ruth Anderson of Junction City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Victor, Harold, and Dale Peterson, and one infant brother.

Organist will be Florence Whitebread
