Graveside services for Hubert H. King,83, of Junction City, Kansas will be held at Fort Riley Cemetery, Friday, December 6, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. Chaplain Todd will officiate. Hubert died November 28, 2002 at his residence. Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2002, public viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and family viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery, Fort Riley, Kansas. Memorial Contributions may be made to the United Way Of Junction City, P.O. Box 567, Junction City, KS 66441. Hubert was born October 26, 1919 at Houstonia, MO to Harry C. and Florence (Pummill) King. He graduated from Houstonia High School in 1936. Hubert married Bertha M. King, they later divorced. He later married In Ja Kim. Hubert entered the U S Army on March 18, 1942, he was appointed Warrant Officer on June 20, 1950. He achieved the grade of Chief Warrant Officer W4 on June 27, 1962. He graduated from a 10 week course at the U S Army Engineer School at Fort Belvoir, VA in 1959, he was awarded the Army Commendation
Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. His tours of duty included Germany, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Japan, Korea, Alaska and Fort Riley, KS. He retired May 31, 1966 after 28 years of service, he later worked civil service at Fort Riley and was in charge of the maintenance shops, tanks and heavy equipment. He was a member of Union 7 Lodge and 32nd Degree Isis Temple.
