Graveside inurnment for (Ret) CSM Herbert A. "Herb" Kelly, 64, of Junction City, will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2005, 10 a.m. at Fort Riley Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Kelly passed away March 20, 2005 at his residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Homecare & Hospice, 323 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan, KS 66502.

Mr. Kelly was born September 10, 1940, in Detroit, Mich., son of James L. and Verna (Young) Kelley. He joined the U.S. Army in 1957 and served his country proudly for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Mr. Kelly then worked civil service at Fort Riley as a supervisor at DOL. He retired from that in 2002.

He married Lieselotte "Lilo" Spanier June 21, 1963 in Wertheim, Germany; she preceded him in death August 14, 2004.

Survivors include his four sisters, Vera Kelley (Frank Oakley), Jan Williams (Winston), Verna Kemp (John) and Cheryl McDaniel; one brother, Duane Kelley (Ginger); very dear friends, Renee and Marty Schmedemann; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susi Davis (David); and brother, Jim Kelly.

Milestone Cremation Association was in charge of the arrangements.
