Henry W. Roeser of eastern Geary County died at home on June 2, 2008. Visitation will be at Penwell-Gabel, 203 N. Washington, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Humboldt Cemetery.
Henry was the son of William and Bertha Roeser. He was born October 31, 1917. He attended school in rural Geary County. Henry worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita in the early 40's. While at Boeing he met Josie Mae Smith and they were married November 14, 1944. Shortly after marriage, Henry and Josie moved back to the Geary County community and began a long life of farming. Henry enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife and was a great story teller of life experiences.
Henry was preceded in death by his father and mother, by his brothers; Clifford and Marty and by a sister Louise. His wife Josie passed away in April of 2000.
He is survived by a sister, Pearl Kraus of Burlingame, KS. He is also survived by a daughter, Sharon K. Coulombe and her husband Bill of Woodland, CA. He also has a son Ronald L. of rural Geary County. Also surviving are grandchildren Justin Roeser of Manhattan, Lisa Nabus and Marcie Proietti both of Junction City and Dary Roeser of St. George, KS. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mr. Roeser will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Humboldt Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time on June 4, 2008.
