Henry Parks, 81, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Geary Community Hospital. A graveside service with full military honors will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery 5181 Wildcat Creek Road near Manhattan, KS. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel 203 N. Washington Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans VA Hospital-Bld #24 RM 106G 2200 SW Gage Blvd Topeka, KS 66622.
Henry Parks was born October 15, 1933, in Seguin, TX the son of Hardy and Agnes Parks.
Henry served in the U.S. Army having retired as an E-9. After his retirement he worked twenty three years for Fort Riley National Bank. Henry was avid fisherman.
Henry married Margitte Reuter on March 26, 1960, in Aschaffenburg, Germany. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include seven children, Anita Frazier of Hope, NC, Beverly Parks of Palestine, TX, Cynthia Parks of Topeka, KS, Diane Palmer of Junction City, KS, Elaine Williams of Atlanta, GA, Henry Parks, Jr. of Thompsons, TX, and Hardy Parks of Wichita, KS. He was also survived by twenty two grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers, George Parks of Florida and Alfred Parks of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
