Helga Grant

Funeral service for Helga Grant, 70, of Junction City, will be Friday, June 2, 2006, 10 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church ELCA, with Reverend Mark Klawonn officiating along with Bill Peterson, PMA. Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, 2006, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. Burial will be in Fort Riley Cemetery. Mrs. Grant passed away May 25, 2006 at her residence. Memorial contributions may be given to the Manhattan Homecare & Hospice, 323 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan, KS 66502 and/or Faith Lutheran Church ELCA, 212 N. Eisenhower, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mrs. Grant was born March 1, 1936 in Herford, Germany, daughter of Heinz and Frieda (Weimer) Bischinger. She was a homemaker, member of the Faith Lutheran Church ELCA, and past member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Grant was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She married Robert "Robbie" Grant, Sr. November 21, 1955 in Baumholder, Germany; he preceded her in death June 18, 2004.

Survivors include her son, Robert Grant, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Belchertown, MA; three daughters, Linda Rodgers and husband George of Waldorf, MD, LaVerne Grant-Smith and husband Barry of Junction City, and Lorraine Hammond and husband Roger "Tim" of Wichita; 12 grandchildren, Mark Allan Rodgers, Summer Bennett, Robert Grant, III, Autumn Bentley, Jerome Grant, Mia McCoy, George Rodgers, IV, Jasmine Hammond, Rodger "Tim" Hammond, Jr., Jarrod Smith, Jordan Smith, and Darren Grant; and 6 great-grandchildren, Keyshawn Bentley, Noah Bennett, Mark Rodgers, Jr., Daniel "Tre" McCoy, Elisa Rodgers, and Gabriel Bennett.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Heinrich Müller.

Pallbearers will be Robert Grant, Jr., Barry Smith, George Rodgers IV, Roger Hammond, Chad Bennett, and Jerome Grant.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Grant III, Darren Grant, Mark Rodgers Jr., Jarrod Smith, Jordan Smith, and Rodger Hammond Jr.
