Services for Helen S.(Fiest)Hunt,80, of Dwight, KS will be at St. Xavier Catholic Church, Thursday,May 16, 2002, at 2:00 p.m.Father Al Brungardt will officiate. Helen died May 11, 2002 at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, KS.
Visitation time will be Wednesday, May 15, 2002, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with 7:30 p.m. rosary at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Dwight Cemetery, Dwight, Kansas. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ronald McDonald House 825 SW Buchanan, Topeka, KS 66606. Helen was born July 18, 1921, at the family home on Davis Creek, southeast of Junction City, KS to Robert F. and Anna (Olson) Fiest Helen graduated from Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1939. Helen married Rex R. Hunt, Sr. August 26, 1939, at St. Thomas Rectory in Kansas City, Kansas; he survives of the home. After Helen and Rex's marriage, they lived in the Kansas City area until 1951, when they moved to the farm southeast of Junction City on Davis Creek. There they raised hogs, cattle, chickens, and rabbits. In addition, they kept busy with rental properties located in Junction City and Dwight from 1963 to 1999 at their time of
full retirement. Helen was also a housewife and catered auctions. She loved her garden,flowers, and enjoyed the outdoors. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition, she enjoyed her time with her friends.Helen was a member of the St. Xavier Catholic Church.
Survivors include; Two Sons and their wives: Rex Hunt, Jr. and his wife Tammie of Joplin, MO,and Robert A. Hunt and his wife Feithlinn of Ruth, CA; Three Daughters and their husbands: Barbara Lee Burris and husband Carl of Clay Center, KS, Mary Anna Granzow and husband Cary of Herington, KS, and Tammy Altwegg and husband Scott of Chapman, KS; One Brother and his wife: Robert B. Fiest and wife Patricia of Junction City, KS; One Brother-In-Law: Roy Sender of Junction City, KS; 13 Grandchildren, and 12 Great-Grandchildren. She was prededed in death by: Parents; and One Sister: Esther I. Sender. Casket bearers: Cary Granzow, Scott Altwegg, Michael Burris, Carl Burris, Jr., David
Hunt, and Robert J. Fiest.Honorary Casket bearers: Chase Altwegg, Dilon Altwegg, Carl Burris, Sr., Steve Rossi, Brion Harrington, Raymond Fiest, Doug Hall, Michael Monteith, and Craig Granzow, James Sender. Organist will be Sandy Adams,Vocalist will be John Weber.
