A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2006, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel for Helen Gray Otterstein, 89, Junction City. Reverend Jan Kimbrell will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be given to the Friends of Animals.
Helen was born September 6, 1917, the daughter of Thomas Harrison and Ada (McClaskey) Cummins.
Helen owned and operated the Pla-Mor Bowl along with her husband Earl Gray for twenty years. She also worked for Central National Bank. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Junction City, Kansas. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She married Earl Gray March 24, 1940 in Girard, Kansas. He passed away in 1988. In 1992, she married Golden Otterstein in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He passed away in 2005.
She is survived by one daughter Linda Alexander in Junction City and one grandson James Alexander of Junction City. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Australia.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Orval and Daryl Cummins.
