A visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel for Helen Duvall, 80, Junction City, Kansas. Cremation will follow the visitation. Mrs. Duvall passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the Geary Community Hospital. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery. Helen was born March 12, 1926, in Feodosia, Russia the daughter of Georg and Lubow Dziegul.
Helen moved to Junction city with her husband Clifton in May of 1948. In 1942, she was taken by the Germans and worked in a labor camp for nearly three years until the Americans liberated Germany. At that time, she met and married her husband Clifton Duvall June 2, 1947, in Wetzler, Germany. Clifton passed away March 6, 1994.
Helen worked at the Geary Community Hospital from 1955 until 1980 as a nurse aide in the labor and delivery department taking care of new born babies. She became a United States Citizen April 21, 1954.
Other survivors include two sons, Eddie R. Duvall of Junction City, Kansas and Roy G. Duvall of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is survived by eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
