A Memorial Mass for Helen D. Rak, 91, of Milford, KS will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2009 at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 30, 2009, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. with rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington. Mrs. Rak passed away at her residence on August 22, 2009. Helen was born September 19, 1917 in Kansas City, Kansas to Frank & Gertrude (Taburski) Janesko. She lived in Kansas City until 1940 when she moved to Omaha, Nebraska while working for Cudhy Meat packing plant. She married Joseph J. Rak in 1941.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and eight siblings. She is survived by her daughter Doris J. Rak of Milford, KS. Numerous loving nieces & nephews in Kansas, Nebraska, Texas and California. She was a devoted "Military Mom" and served on numerous family support groups for deployed soldiers of various medical units.
Her cremains will be taken to Bellevue, Nebraska at a later date to be placed with her husband.
