Services for Hazel Sena Langvardt Barton,100, of Junction City, KS will be held at Lyona United Methodist Church, Monday, November 25, 2002, at 1:30 p.m.
Pastor Linda Toms will officiate. Hazel died November 20, 2002 at Enterprise Estates Nursing Home, Enterprise, KS. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2002, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at the Lyona United Methodist Cemetery, Dickinson County, Kansas, Memorials may be made to Lyona United Methodist Church, 1850 Wolf Road, Junction City, KS 66441. Hazel was born September 29, 1902, at rural Geary County,Kansas to Jesse Jorgen and Ada Isora (Collins) Langvardt. Hazel attended High Prairie Grade School and later graduated from Junction City High School in 1920. Marriage Date & Place: Hazel married Harley W. Barton August 23, 1923 at Kansas Falls, near Junction City, KS; he preceded her in death in 1991. Employment & Biography: Hazel and her husband lived and farmed in the Lyona Community until moving to Junction City in 1950, where she and her husband owned Barton's Market Grocery from 1950 to 1970. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of Lyona Methodist church since 1923, U.M. W., and Lyona Creek E.H.U. Survivors: One Son: Lee Barton of Omaha, NE; One Daughter: Ada Ann Beck, of Junction City, KS; Two Sisters: Faye Glidewell of FL, and Ardys Place of Lee's Summit, MO; Two Brothers: Harold Langvardt of Clay Center, KS, and Arthur Langvardt of Hastings, NE; Nine Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; and Seven Great-Great Grandchildren. Preceded In Death By: Parents; Husband; One Daughter: Janet Schlegel; Seven Brothers: Jesse, Jack, Donnell, Howard, LaVern, Eldon, and Wayne; Three Sisters: Bernice, Neola, and Ada; and Two Great-Granddaughters: Taryn and Starlyn.
