Services for Hazel F. Johnston ,87,Lawton,OK, Formerly of Junction City,KS will be Thursday, April 18, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel.Pastor Matthew Glasgow of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. She died April 15, 2002 at the Southwestern Medical Center, Lawton, OK. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2002, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel, burial will be at Humboldt Cemetery, Junction City, Kansas.In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church, 113 W. 5th, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or First Presbyterian Church, 1302 SW A Ave., Lawton, OK 73507, and/or Donor's Choice. Hazel was born June 27, 1914, Springfield, MO to J.D. and Myrtle F. (Henderson) Hicks. Hazel graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1933, she then attended Mauder Franks Business School for a nine month course, she later graduated from Crum's Beauty College in 1939. She Married William "Bill" Henry Johnston, June 23, 1940 in Kansas City, MO, he preceded her in death May 17, 1991.She moved from Kansas City, MO to Junction City, KS in 1949. Hazel sold Avon from 1953-1959, Hood-Spencer Clothing for 16 years (1958-1974) as a bookkeeper, she worked as a probate clerk and as a Deputy Clerk at the Geary County Clerk's office from 1974 to 1981.She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, she sang in the choir for 15 years, she
was a Sunday School Teacher from 1949-1954, served as a deaconess for 3 years, Treasurer of UPW Group, Past Matron of Eastern Star Club #116, Eagle Auxiliary, Town & Country EHU and ORME.Survivors;One Son; Lawrence W. Johnston of Lansing, MI, One Daughter; Frances E. Johnston of Lawton, OK, Three Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren. Preceded In Death By; Parents
