Memorial services for Hazel DeLay,88, of Junction City, KS will be Thursday, July 21, 2005, 1p.m. at the First Christian Church with Pastor Darel Boston officiating. Mrs. DeLay passed away at Chapman Valley Manor on July 18, 2005. Inurnment will be at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Hazel's name at the First Christian Church, 1429 St. Mary's Road, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mrs. DeLay was born August 3, 1916 in Sutphen Mills, KS to James W. and Emma (Shane) Olds. Her family moved to Industry, KS when she was a year old, then moved to Junction City, KS when she was 10 years old.

She married Lawrence DeLay on March 7, 1934 in Beatrice, NE. They had two children Connie Dowdall and Larry DeLay. Mr. DeLay preceded her in death August 2, 1981.

Hazel owned and operated L&H Trailer Court from 1950 to 1987. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Eagles Auxiliary, Geary County Historical Society and the WIBC Bowling League.

She is survived by one daughter, Connie Dowdall of Milford, KS, one brother, Albert Olds of OR, six grandchildren, eight-great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Larry DeLay, four sisters, Helen Wolf, Clara Kolling, Dorothy Mitchell and Gladys Warner, one brother, George Olds and granddaughter, Jamie DeLay.
