A Memorial Gathering for Mrs. Hazel Darlyne (Bregen) Cloutier will be held at 3:00PM, with a Memorial Service starting at 3:15PM, on Friday, June 29, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS. Mrs. Cloutier passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Village Manor in Abilene, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Village Manor for the Eden Fund or to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Kansas, 347 S. Laura, Wichita, KS 67211.
Darlyne was the daughter and 4th child of Herman Joseph and Ida Jo (Neithinger) Bregen. She was born in Wakefield, Kansas, on January 30, 1931, and lived in Wakefield until her marriage to Frank W. Cloutier on September 14, 1950. After living a short time in California and Herington, Kansas, Darlyne and Frank retuned to Wakefield and with their 6 children lived the majority of their adult lives in Wakefield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Herman Henry Bregen, on July 8, 1956; her sister, Mildred (Bregen) Wyss Knueppell, on September 10, 1963; one granddaughter, Jennifer Renee Wilder, on April 27, 1994; and her beloved husband Frank on November 27, 2001. Her sister B. Lorraine Landreth resides in Shawnee, Kansas.
Darlyne is survived by her 5 daughters and 1 son:

Penney Carruci and husband, Nick, of Tannersville, PA
Robert (Bob) Cloutier of Valley City, ND
Lois Christensen and husband, Dale, of Solomon, KS
Rene' Hazen and husband, Mark, of Abilene, KS
Darlyne was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Darlyne worked as a switchboard operator in Longford, homemaker, and then with Civil Service—Department of Army in Fort Riley, Kansas, from February 5, 1963, until retirement on January 31, 1995.
