Funeral services for Hattie Johnson, 63, of Junction City will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel 203 N. Washington with Reverend Audrey Toombs officiating. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Johnson passed away Friday, September 28, 2007, at the Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
Hattie was born October 20, 1943, in Truman County, Georgia, the daughter of Ishmel and Viola (Crowder) Johnson.
Hattie was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, watching the Miami Dolphins on Monday Nite Football. She was very high spirited, loving and funny. She also loved music and old television programs.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Williams and two sisters, Sherily Johnson and Peggy Williams.
Survivors include one son, Joseph Pierce of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Victoria Pierce of Miami, Florida and Sharon Yvette Gray El-Amin of Junction City, Kansas; two brothers, Gary Johnson of Miami, Florida and Charlie J. Armstron of Orlando, Florida; three sisters, Julia Battle, Joyce Cullins and Sandy Lewis all of Miami, Florida. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
