A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold James Boller, 80, will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Boller passed away April 6, 2009 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, KS. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the St. Xavier Church in memory of Mr. Boller.
Harold was born October 7, 1928, to Frank and Mary (Arkell) Boller in Junction City. He lived all of his life as a rancher-stockman on the Boller Family farm located in eastern Geary & western Riley counties. He graduated from Junction City High School with the Class of 1946.
He married Peggy A. Gross on November 12, 1952. Born to this union were seven sons and two daughters; Beverly Boller, Topeka, Keith and wife DeGe Boller of Junction City, Thomas and wife Bettina Boller of Manhattan, Robert Boller of Manhattan, Phillip and wife Tami of Junction City, Mary and husband Phil Diestelkamp of Junction City, John and wife Phyllis Boller of Manhattan, Timothy Boller of Roeland Park, KS and son David P. Boller, who passed away in 1997.
He was also preceded in death by his Parents, brother, Joseph F. Boller, and sister, Etta Mae Regelman. Surviving sisters: Rosemary Devane of Enterprise, Bernice Ericksen and husband Clarence of Junction City. Wilma Lathrop of Olathe, Betty and husband Bob Wilson of Bella Vista, AR.
Twenty four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; Kenny Brzuchalski, Heide, Mitch and Chad Boller, Taryn Boller, Elizebeth and Catie Buckley, Michael Boller, Shawna White and Corbin Boller, Jamie Rosen, Josh and Ryan Boller, Austin, Garrett and Matthew Boller, Nealan Shaver and Chasidy Moore: Jack, Olivia, Laramie, Jay & Hayden Diestelkamp, and Calen Boller.
Harold was a member of St. Xavier's Catholic Church he served all offices of the third & Fourth Degree of Knights of Columbus Council 1029. He was a member of many organizations including the Elks & Eagles. He served as exalted Ruler of the Elks, served on the Humboldt and St. Xavier School Boards. Mr. Boller was an organizer of the National Farmer's Organization and he was a member of the Manhattan Post Polio Group. He served as director with the Federal Land Bank. Harold and Family participated in the Junction City Saddle Club and Geary County 4-H.
