HAROLD BRICE
1919-2006
Harold L. Brice, 86, Chanute, died Friday, November 3, 2006, at Heritage Health Care.
Harold was born December, 15, 1919 in Laurel, Nebraska to Allia and Jessie (Davis) Brice. He grew up in Nebraska until he joined the Army in 1945. While in the service he served as a corporal in the military police. He served in Japan during World War 11 and later at Camp Beale, California until he was honorably discharged. Brice earned the Army of Occupation Medal, World War 11 Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal during his service. He was a member of the VFW Post #170 and the Moose Lodge in Idaho
On May 14, 1973 he married Dorothy (Wiffler) Glynn in Boise, Idaho. They resided in Donnelly, Idaho. He was a heavy machine mechanic for the US Department of Labor. Harold was and avid hunter and outdoorsman. He and Dorothy moved to Chanute, Kansas in 1996 to be near family.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home; two brothers Don Brice, California, Ron Brice, Oregon; one sister Alma Jones, Idaho; three sons Ken Leatherwood, Benedict; Russell Glynn, Buffalo; Billy Brice, Idaho; five daughters Donna Ackley, Idaho; Rene Glynn, Fort Scott; Janine Graham, Chanute; Marilyn Brice, Idaho; Leslie Box, Idaho; Caroline Rodgers, Idaho. He also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons Melvin Brice and Neil Leatherwood; and one daughter Phyllis Kelseth.
Cremation has taken place. The family will be having a short memorial service at the United Bretheren Church, Chanute, Kansas on Sunday November 5, 2006 at 2:30. Harold's ashes will later be spread in Donnelly Idaho in the mountains he hunted.
