Graveside services for Harlan Leroy Lofthus Sr., 80 of Junction City will be Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Penwell Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. Mr. Lofthus passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 in the comfort of his home with his loving family.
Harlan was born June 17, 1931 in Bagley, MN to Anton & Hulda (Sather) Lofthus.
Harlan was a resident of Junction City since 1952. He served in the United States Army in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1954. He then worked as a fire fighter and then worked construction and helped build Milford dam. He later worked for L.M. wheel alignment which he later purchased and made his life's career. Harlan loved racing and restoring old Ford cars. Harlan loved spending time with his family and many friends.
He is survived by his brother; Rodney Lofthus, sister-in-law, Roxanne Lofthus. Four children; Rochelle Lee, Harlan Leroy Lofthus Jr., Brenda Smith and Daniel Lofthus. Five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Harlan is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol and his long time partner and companion Barbara Shockey. Once granddaughter and one great grandson.
