Gretchen Anne Konrad, 30, of Ft. Riley, died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. Gretchen was born May 31, 1984 in Bago City, Negros Occidental, The Philippines, the daughter of Edgar and Gloria (Delos Santos) Konrad. Gretchen had lived at Ft. Riley since June, 2013, and was a hair-stylist at Paul Mitchell Beauty Salon in Manhattan.
Gretchen married Sgt. Ricky Wheeler on Sept. 21, 2012 in Haderslev, Denmark. He survives of the home. Other survivors are a new born son, Logan Wayne Wheeler, of the home; her mother, Gloria Konrad, Zellingen, Germany; a sister, Sunshine Konrad, Zellingen, Germany; and a host of friends. Gretchen was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Konrad.
Cremation has taken place. No local services are planned. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in charge of arrangements.
