Grant D. Bigler, 59, Manhattan, KS., passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at the Geary Community Hospital after a sudden, brief illness. Respect calls may be made 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington. Pastor Phil Fischer will officiate. Private Graveside Services will be conducted at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Basic Cancer Research KSU Foundation Center 2323 Anderson Suite 500 Manhattan, KS. 66502-2911.
Grant was born October 2, 1952, in Junction City, the son of Raymond D. and Wilma L. (Geer) Bigler.
Grant served in the National Guard for ten years and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 21 years.
Grant is survived by his mother Wilma Bigler of Junction City and his sister Jane Bigler of Lenexa.
Grant was preceded in death by his father Raymond Bigler.
