Gloria Scholl, 77, of Junction City, passed away October 30, 2004 at her home. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 2, 2004, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, Junction City. Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 3, 2004, 10 a.m., at Fort Riley Cemetery, with Chaplain Tim Stiers officiating.
Mrs. Scholl was born March 21, 1927, in Phoenix City, AL, daughter of Daniel E. and Flora Maud (Pitts) Trammell. She married Donald E. "Lucky" Scholl February 15, 1946; he preceded her in death June 16, 1990.
Mrs. Scholl was a homemaker, she worked at Longs Clothing and Shoe Store for 10 years and at the Bizarre Gift Shop in Junction City. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary and was a volunteer with the Gray Ladies, known today as the Pink Ladies.
She was loved and cherished by her surviving family which includes two daughters, Deborah Gillespie of Junction City and Gail McReynolds and husband Don of Manhattan; one brother, Johnny M. Trammell of Chickamauga, GA; three granddaughters; Shannon Gaston and husband Brian of Abilene, Donna Dager and husband Jim of Ft. Wayne, IN and Heather Hartung and husband Rick of Allen, TX; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter Gaston, Ashlyn Dager, Jordan Hartung, Holden Hartung and Lauren Hartung, five nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, LaVerne Bowden and Leila Kosobucki.
