Gloria Banola Pinon, 84, of Junction City, passed away on June 27, 2017. Visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, from 1:00 pm. to 2:00 pm. followed by a Memorial Service, 2:00 pm, at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, 805 Caroline Ave., Junction City, KS 66441, with Father Coady officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
She was born on October 10, 1932, Angeles City, Philippines to Mr. & Mrs. Banola.
Gloria graduated from Manila Central University, College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) in April of 1956. She worked in MCU Hospital after passing her Board Exams in Nursing until 1960. Gloria went to the USA under the Exchange Visitor's Program and worked at Cook County Hospital in Chicago for two years (1960-1962), she then went to Kingston, Ontario, Canada and worked at Kingston General Hospital (1963-1965). She went back to the Philippines and worked in Manila Doctor's Hospital (1965-1967). Gloria came back to the USA and worked at Cook County Hospital in Chicago (1967-1972).
She married Rogelio Pinon on June 12, 1971, Junction City, KS at St. Xavier Catholic Church. She worked at Geary Community Hospital in the OB/GYN Department until she retired in 1994. Rogelio and Gloria have lived in Junction City, Kansas since 1972.
Gloria was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church; she loved to cook, sew and crochet.
Gloria is survived by her loving Husband, Rogelio; her Brother-In-Law, Ramon M. (Catalina) Pinon of Wimauma, FL; Nephew, Joseph D. Fernandez; Niece, Julie Booth; Two Great-Nephews, Joseph Fernandez, Jr., and Brennan Booth; and Great-Niece, Michelle Fernandez.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Brothers, and 3 Sisters.
