Gloria Ann Phipps

Gloria Ann Phipps, 75, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, of Junction City, passed away May 15, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Junction City. Gloria was born September 6, 1940 in Sparta, Michigan, the daughter of Hollis & Eloise (Williams) Collins. She attended her schooling in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School.
A Junction City resident since the early 1970s, she had worked at Montgomery Ward and later for A.A. F.E.S. on post at Ft. Riley.
Gloria married Lawrence D. Phipps on January 21, 1983 in Junction City. He died November 7, 2004. Survivors include: 2 sons, Martin E. Anderson and his wife Debra K., Junction City, and Bryan Phipps and his wife Denise, Topeka; 3 daughters, Ann M. Pratt and her husband Craig, Cedar Springs, Michigan, Gemini Tillotson and her husband Tim, and Susan Boller and her husband Ray, all of Junction City; 2 sisters, Carol Van Dersloot, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and June Manciu, Sparta, Michigan; 19 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel. Burial of the ashes will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Geary Community Homecare & Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
