Funeral services for Glenn W. Zeigler, 80, of Junction City will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Matt Christensen officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Round Mound North Lutheran Cemetery five miles north of Natoma, KS. Visitation will be held 6-8p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington. Mr. Zeigler passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Geary Community Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 630 S. Eisenhower, Junction City, KS 66441.
Glenn was born June 26, 1927, in Natoma, Kansas the son of Eddie F. and Mildred A. (Kirkpatrick) Zeigler.
Glenn worked forty years in the automobile parts business. He worked for Russell Motor Company, Goad Motor Company, Gateway Motor Company and Dick Edwards Auto Plaza. In 1993, he went to work for Madelyn Johnson at Johnson Funeral Chapel, he later became an assistant funeral director and at the time of his death, he was currently employed with Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel and Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel. Glenn was very proud of the years he worked in the automobile business and funeral service industry. Over those years working in both businesses he came in contact with many local families. He will be missed by his family, many friends and coworkers.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he sung in the church choir for many years. Glenn was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Earl C. Gromley American Legion Post # 45. Glenn enjoyed woodworking and cars.
He married Mildred L. Luhman August 3, 1952, in Natoma, Kansas.
She survives of the home.
Survivors include his daughter Shannon Paluskas of Coopersville, Michigan; one brother, Gordon Zeigler of San Antonio, Texas, he is also survived by one grandson Evan Hartley and one great granddaughter McKenzie Hartley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Chuck Pohlman, Keith Tatkenhorst, Ray P. Luhman, Evan Hartley and Donald Kelly.
Musicians will be LaDonna Junghans, Manuel Pasquil and Joan Keating
