Glenn L. Schmutz, 78, of Junction City, died March 29, 2018 at his home in Junction City. Glenn was the longtime Owner/Operator of Glenn's Plumbing and Heating in Junction City. Glenn was born December 28, 1939 in rural Dickinson County, the son of Roy P. and Lillian (Davies) Schmutz.

Glenn attended schools in Dickinson County. He joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and spent 6 years in the military, and was honorably discharged in Feb. 1963.

Glenn and his wife, Earnestine, started Glenn's Plumbing & Heating in 1976, after he worked for 10 years for Osborn's Plumbing.

Glenn was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church, and was very active with the Knights of Columbus of the church. He also volunteered with the Troop #41 of the Boy Scouts of America in Junction City.

Glenn married Earnestine Dixon on July 12, 1958 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Earnestine survives of the home. Other survivors include: a son, Rodney R. Schmutz and his wife Mary; 2 daughters, Diann C. Hodge and her husband Jeff, and Regina K Geiger and her husband Leland, all of Junction City; his siblings, Oliver Schmutz, Junction City, George Schmutz, Atascadero, Calif., Mary Cook, Junction City, David Schmutz, Wichita, and Johnny Schmutz, Salem, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Timothy, Jacob, Justin, Adam, and Steven; and 6 great grandchildren. Glenn was preceded in death by a son, Steven Schmutz in 1992; his parents; 2 sisters, Helen Neef and Ruth Fink; and sisters-in-law, Sue Schmutz, Ardith Schmutz; and a brother-in-law, Charles Neef.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Ryan McCandless presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Junction City. Military Honors by the United States Air Force Honor Guard from McConnell A.F.B will be provided at the cemetery. A visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, April 5th, all at Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Xavier Church, or to Accord Hospice.
