Glen Allen Briggs

Glen Allen Briggs, 84, of Junction City, passed away on January 11, 2023, at his home. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #45, 201 E. 4th Street, Junction City, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given in his memory to the American Legion Post #45 in Junction City, Kansas or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Glen was born on February 1, 1938, in Elgin, Oklahoma to Wesley and Kathleen (Dotson) Briggs. He was one of seven kids in the family. After high school, he left his home in Oklahoma and joined the U.S Army. Following his Honorable discharge in 1963, he worked for Junction City as a water technician until his retirement in 2003. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW.

He married Lois Ann Long August 15, 1963, later divorcing. After the divorce, he married Cleta Mae Woods in 1970.

Glen is survived by his two daughters Sheila Bolieu (Jason) of Salina, Kansas and Tina Wells (Randy) of Abilene, Kansas; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded by his parents, siblings, and his granddaughter Ashleigh Wells of Abilene, Kansas.
