Gerry S. Smith, 75, of Junction City, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. It was Gerry's wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church. Following the memorial service, the family will have a cookout at Milford Lake. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Gerry S. Smith Memorial Fund c/o Central National Bank.

Gerry was born May 3, 1944 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Verel and Roberta (Nott) Smith. He was raised in Muscatine and did all of his schooling there and graduated from high school in Muscatine.

Gerry worked a variety of jobs, including civil service on Ft. Riley, custodial work at Russell Stover Candy Factory in Abilene, and various other jobs.

Gerry and his wife were both members of the First United Methodist Church in Junction City. When Gerry's boys were younger, Gerry was an active volunteer with Boy Scout Troop #64.

Gerry married Pamela Lee on July 3, 1970 in Muscatine. Pamela survives of the home. Other survivors include: 3 sons, Troy Smith, who lives in Illinois, Darren Smith, Columbus Junction, Iowa, and Triston Smith, Junction City; a daughter, Diahnca Quigley, Junction City; 3 half-brothers, Carl Coleman, Terry Coleman, and Danny Coleman; a half-sister, Peggy Adams, who lives in Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; and 8 step great-grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Smith; a grandson, Troy Smith, Jr.; a great-grandson, Levi Fisher; a half-brother Jerry Coleman; and a half-sister, Anna Coleman.
