Geraldine Ruth Stopfer, 89, Junction City, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Valley View Senior Life Center. Cremation has taken place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. No memorial service is planned. Memorial contributions may be given to the T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter, 605 Levee Drive, Manhattan, KS 66502.
Geraldine was born February 24, 1923, in Hoxie, Arkansas the daughter of Horace and Truelove (Smith) Bruce. She has lived in Junction City since 2002. She previously lived in Chicago, Illinois, Kalamazoo, Michigan and and the State of Arkansas.
Geraldine was a mother and homemaker.
Survivors include her two sons, Ronnie Stopfer of Junction City, KS and Kenneth Stopfer of Nevada, MO. She is also survived by two grandsons, Nick Stopfer, Bryan Stopfer and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry and two sons, Steven and Donnie Stopfer.
