Services for Gerald E. Haley, 84, of Junction City, Kansas will be held at Johnson Funeral Chapel, Friday, May 2, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Ronnie Roberts will officiate. Gerald died April 29, 2003 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2003, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery, Milford, Kansas. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Law Enforcement Memorial, c/o Junction City Police Department, 210 E. 9th, Junction City, Kansas 66441. Gerald was born November 28, 1918, Boonville, MO to John B. and Margaret O.(Hartley)Haley Gerald married Hazel Baker October 31, 1942 at Manhattan, KS; she survives. Gerald served in the United States Army from 1939 to 1947. After that, he worked civil service. Gerald later became a police officer and worked at the Junction City Police Department. He retired in 1983, as a Sgt. with 26 years on the force. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion.Survivors: One Son: Darrel Haley, of Pawling, NY; One Brother: John B. Haley of Jefferson City, MO; Four Grandchildren: Debbie McCallister, Shari Hester, Patty Paxton,and Chris Haley; and Four Great-Grandchildren: Amy McCallister, Jennifer Hester,Jacob McCallister, and Jeremy Hester.
