Gerald K. Adams, 82, Junction City, KS, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019, at Good Shephard Hospice House in Manhattan, KS. A graveside service will be 1 PM Monday, November 25, 2019, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Gerald was born January 26, 1937, in Greeley, MO, the son of Quincy J. and Allie (Gant) Adams.
Gerald served in the United States Army from 1955 until his retirement in 1981 as a Chief Warrant Officer III. After his retirement, he worked Civil Service at Fort Riley for many years. Gerald served two tours in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He married Maria Rupp December 18, 1958 in Lampertheim, Germany. She passed away April 12, 2015.
He is survived by his two daughters; Maritta Hilde of home in Junction City, Bellinda Katharina and her husband Allan Schoof of Overland Park, KS; and one son Robert Edward and his wife Anne Adams of Greenwood, SC; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
