George "Steve" Wright, 64, of Junction City, passed away on September 8, 2014 in Topeka, Kansas.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate Steve's life at 9 am on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Church on McFarland Road in Junction City. A graveside will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.
He was born on November 11, 1949, in Sacramento, California to parents George Leroy Wright and Flora Ann (Babineau)Wright.
Steve was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed researching genealogy, and looming hats and shawls.
He met his wife, Dawn, in 1978, and married her on November 9th of the same year. They spent nearly four wonderful decades together.
Steve is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Avonne Raymond.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Dawn, of the home; his son, Gregory Wright of Ft. Hood, Texas; a daughter, Kristina Hicks of Everett, Washington; a sister, Jan and Dan Lunkenbille of Grass Valley, California; and an uncle, Fred and Jerry Babineau of Upland, California.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage loved ones to make a donation in Steve's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
