Memorial Services for George L. Beers, 60, of Milford, KS will be Tuesday, January 6, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Pastor G. Edmond Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be tonight at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church, 624 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441. Cremation will follow the service, with inurnment at a later date.

George was born May 26, 1943 at Concordia, KS to Melvin and Pearl (Reeves) Beers. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1964, Jamestown, KS and married Betty Pool January 15, 1966 at Hebron, NE. He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation as an Inspector for 32 years, working most recently out of Wamego. He served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1971. George was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Buckles & Bows Square Dance Club of Junction City. George was a resident of Milford since 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Milford, one son, Brian Beers of Milford, one daughter; Brenda Beers of Milford, one sister, Sharon K. Wade of Linwood, KS and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Florene Corliss in 1997.
