Genevieve Holstead

Genevieve Holstead, 85, Junction City, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Valley View Senior Life in Junction City. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Junction City, Kansas and the Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Genevieve was born July 6, 1923, in Abilene, Texas the daughter of Perry Alfred and Huttie Victoria (Speck) Conaway. She moved to Junction City, Kansas in 2005 to be near her daughter Sherry Hubbard and husband David.

Genevieve retired as a clerk for the Runnells County Tax Collectors Office. She was a life long member of the Church of Christ.

She married L.D. (Dick) Holstead November 15, 1941 he preceded her in death August 28, 1999.

Survivors include her daughter Sherry Hubbard and her husband David of Junction City. She is also survived by one son, Richard Holstead and his wife Linda of Midland, Texas and one brother, Jack Conaway of Houston, Texas. She is survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, her parents and one sister, Dana Ruth Sandefur.
