Graveside services for Gary Wade Wilson, 67, Milford, KS will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with Pastor James Johnson officiating. Military honors and Masonic ritual will be held at the cemetery. Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8p.m.at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington. Gary passed away January 24, 2010 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorial Contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 2001 S. Lindburgh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
Gary Wade Wilson was born of Godly parents, Carl "Bud" and Stacey (Dill) Wilson, who taught him the way of The Lord on November 25, 1942 in Evansville, IN. Gary lived and graduated High School in Grayville, IL. He went to Southern Illinois University where he played baseball for two years until being drafted into the Navy for three years, nine months, and twelve days. He was proud to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a Fire Control Technician. Gary returned to SIU and graduated college in 1970 with a Bachelors of Science in Geology.
Gary moved to Geary County in 1972 when he started working for GAB as an Insurance Adjuster. He later worked for Cimarron Insurance and ended his career with Farmers Alliance Insurance when he retired in 2007.
He was involved in many different activities in the community Elk's Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Shriner's Mini Wheels and for many years coached little league baseball.
He married Suzanne Martineau near San Diego, California on December 28, 1971.
He was loved and will be missed by his wife, two sons; Wade T. Wilson of Gardner, KS and Brad E. Wilson and his wife Gisselle, granddaughter; Adrianna I. Wilson Rivera all of Junction City, KS, his sister and brother in law, Sharon and Bill Belva of Chattanooga, TN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
