Gail E. Porter, 65, of Junction City, passed away on November 23, 2018 at Valley View Senior Life Center. Cremation is planned and her remains will be taken back to Texas for a memorial service which will be held at a later date.
Gail was born on November 8, 1953, in Memphis, Texas to James Jones and Lezetta Taylor. She grew up in Amarillo, Texas where she graduated from Palo Duro High School. Gail then went on to take classes at Amarillo Jr. College in the finance field. With that knowledge, she worked at Amarillo National bank for several years. Gail lived in many places throughout her life, and she ultimately settled in Junction City, Kansas.
Gail was a caring person. She loved to spend time with friends and family. Even though she lived far from some friends and family, she still would have happy phone conversations to keep in touch. She also enjoyed watching movies. She was a truly creative person. She was a gifted seamstress and designer. She made her daughter, Tammy, signature dresses that were admired by many.
She will be dearly missed.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Tammy Frazier of Amarillo, TX; grandson, Travious Shanklin of Portland, OR; sisters, Linda Morris of Amarillo, TX, Marlyn Steptoe of Houston, TX; brothers, Billy Don Scott of Amarillo, TX, Marvin Graves of Houston, TX; and a host of loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father, James Jones, Mother, Lezetta Taylor.
