Graveside services for Frederick Lewis Hankins, 85, of Junction City will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2011 6p.m-8p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Mr. Hankins passed away at Geary Community Hospital on August 2, 2011.
He was born February 9, 1926 in Paoli, Indiana to Charles and Cora Belle (Smith) Hankins. He was the eighth child of eleven.
He worked for Morganfield McKenna Pontiac and Buick Dealership after serving 8 1/2 years in the U S Army.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly Rae (Lambert), sons, Gary Lewis and Fred, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
