Funeral services for Frederick (Fred) C. Brockman, 85, of Junction City will be 3 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street with Pastor Ronnie Roberts of the First Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the chapel. Burial will be held at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Brockman passed away at Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Overland Park on October 23, 2006. Mr. Brockman was born March 16, 1921, Junction City, KS to Carl F. and Sarah Z. (Tracy) Brockman. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1939. Mr. Brockman was a member of the U S Air Force, serving in WWII. Mr. Brockman owned and operated Brockman's Retail Liquor for over 30 years retiring in January of 1984. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge and the American Legion.
He married Beulah M. Veal April 12, 1941 she preceded him in death December 7, 2005.
He is survived by one son, Gary L. Brockman and his wife Kim of Shawnee, KS, one brother, Carl Brockman of Manhattan, KS, one sister, Betty Gearhart of Coffeyville, KS two grandchildren, Sarah Todd and her husband Matthew of Lawrence and Laura Brockman of Prairie Village, KS.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marguerite Olds
