Graveside services for Frank "Hank" Harp, Jr., 80, Junction City, KS will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley with full military honors. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Post #45, 201 E. 4th Street, Junction City, KS 66441.
Frank was born September 30, 1928, in San Antonio, TX, the son of Frank and Catherine Harp, Sr. He has resided in Junction City since 1962.
Frank retired from the United States Army and retired from Civil Service at Fort Riley. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, working with Boy Scouts and loved playing Rummy with his wife.
He married Setsu K. Kamata February 11, 1953 in Sapporo, Japan.
Survivors include his wife Setsu of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Bobby Harp and his wife Rhonda of Norman, OK and John Harp of Junction City, two daughters, Nancy Giordano of Lafayette, LA, Emily Collins-Sheets and her husband Larry of Wichita, KS he is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Catherine, Rosalie and Dorothy.
