Frank Laverne Decorah,77, of Milford, KS, made the journey to his Heavenly Home, November 24, 2021, surrounded with his cherished family.
He is survived by the light of his life, his wife of 48 years, Christa Maria Schon Decorah, His Hope, his Daughters: Kirsten Roseberry of Anchorage, Alaska and Lorraine (Ray Vian) of Wakefield, KS, His future and the pride of his life, his grandsons, Michael and Justin Decorah, His brothers Ben and Charles Hopinkah, his dear, wise Aunt Dee Maisells, his hunting partner and brother Rick Speros as well as many other cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, friends and comrades whom he loved dearly. He was met on the other side by his beloved mother Lorraine Decorah, his baby sister, his aunts who were very special to him, his uncle Hoki and his faithful companion Chiefy.
Born and raised in Baraboo, WI, Frank was an avid hunter and fisher and enjoyed teaching everyone the sport, especially his grandsons and son-in-law. He was a United States Army Veteran and remained a patriot all his life. Frank was a dedicated and an involved family man who never missed an opportunity to attend school events and sports that his children and granchildren were part of. He loved people and made friends everywhere he went, no one was a stranger. He loved to laugh and joke and make people smile and was well known for his shenanigans and his kind, humble heart.
Friends and family may pay their respects at the Milford Congregational Church, 308 1oth Street, Milford, KS, with Rev. Dirk Westerman officiating on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm. The family request that all in attendance wear masks and memorials can be made to the family and/or St. Judes Children Hospital.
