Funeral services for Francis Alvin Schippert, 82, Lake Jackson TX. will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, Lake Jackson, TX with Pastor Jamie Hill officiating. Mr. Schippert passed away Sunday March 12, 2006 in Lake Jackson, TX. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2006 at Highland Cemetery, Junction City, KS with Chaplain Vincent Manuel officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS.
Francis was born march 14, 1923 to Frederick Charles and Katherine Schippert. Francis served in the US Navy during World War II. He worked 25 years in civil service for the government. Francis was a member of Victory Fellowship and Cowboy Church of Brazoria, TX.
Survived by his son James Schippert and wife Jenora, Lake Jackson, TX, and his daughter, Judy Harvey and husband Glen, Pittsburgh, KS; three step-sons, Bill Reimler, Junction City, KS, Nelson Reimler and Edward Reimler both of Oklahoma, OK; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was "Crampaw" to his great grandchildren. One brother Frederick Schippert of Ohio; seven sisters, Bonnie Schrader, Abilene, KS, Ellen Backus and Juanita Henderson, both of Kansas City, MO, Phyllis Wilson, Albuquerque, NM, Nona Browning, Leavenworth, KS and Arlene Shultz, Omaha, NB. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gevine Schippert, parents, one brother John R. Schippert and one sister June Henderson.
