Funeral services for Forrest Woodson Hodge, 81, Junction City, KS, retired Master Sergeant, US Army will be held 10 a.m., Friday March 11, 2005 at First Christian Church with Pastor Elmer Hodge and Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Fort Riley Post Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mr. Hodge passed away March 7, 2005 at Valley View Professional Care Center.
Forrest was born April 23, 1923 in Central City, NE the son of Roscoe and Jennie (Galley) Hodge.He grew up in Palmer, NE and graduated High School May 1941. Mr. Hodge entered the US Army in 1945 and retiring in 1963 serving in both World War ll and the Korean Conflict. Master Sergeant received the following awards; Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army Of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.
He was married to Helen Williams April 24, 1981 in Junction City, KS, she survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons; Jeffrey Hodge and Kelly Hodge both of Junction City, KS, two step children Guy Blazer and Ina Sever of Greenfield, OH; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin Hodge of Junction City, KS; three step grandchildren, Tina Day, Lexington, SC, Marty Sever, Greenfield, OH and Timothy Blazer, Columbus, OH; two brothers, Chester Hodge and wife Laura, Ainsworth, NE, Clarence Hodge, Akron, CO and Elmer and wife Nancy Hodge of Forsyth, MO; two sisters, June and husband Mike Passanith, Kettering, OH and Virginia Hafer, Greenfield, OH.
Forrest was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion Post 0045.
